Aims:
The principal aim of the CDF is to provide an active Christian influence in the dental profession.
Specific aims are:
- To unite all those who try to follow high standards in their Christian professional life;
- To support students and those who have recently qualified;
- To give practical support to members who are overseas partners and to help them meet specific needs;
- To help all members of the dental team to share their faith in Christ and His ethical teaching within the profession.
What do we do?
At home:
Regional Groups
Groups are organised on a regional basis and hold informal meetings to build friendships and to encourage and support members in their Christian and professional lives.
National Annual Family Conference
This is the focal event of the year where members, students and friends gather for a weekend of professional stimulation, bible teaching, relaxation and fellowship. Christian ethics as they apply to the dental profession are aired and discussed. Lasting friendships are often forged between members, students, friends and families on these occasions.
Three-in-One
Members receive our quarterly magazine Three-in-One, with news, views and other articles that keep us in touch with each other, at home and overseas.
Work with students
The CDF student coordinators support and encourages Christian dental students, working alongside University Christian Unions.
Practical support is available to student members who wish to undertake elective visits to overseas partners.
The CDF supports the work of the UCCF and other Christian organisations working amongst undergraduates.
Abroad:
Overseas Partners Support
CDF is not a sending agency but contributes prayer and financial support to members of the Fellowship working as overseas partners. It encourages the membership to support international dental work as well as making members aware of opportunities to serve the Lord overseas, both on a short-term and long-term basis.
